Fort Lawn woman dies in crash

A Fort Lawn woman was killed early this morning when her Chevy Malibu ran off the road and hit a tree.

JaQuanda Monique Hammond, 24, wasn’t wearing a seat belt, said Chester County Coroner Terry Tinker. She died of blunt force trauma, he said.

The wreck happened around 4:30 a.m. on River Road in Fort Lawn about a half mile from S.C. 9 east.
