A 53-year-old woman was unconscious this morning when firefighters rescued her from a burning house in Rock Hill, according to police and fire officials.
The Rock Hill Fire Department went to the house at 336 Ebenezer Avenue around 12:50 a.m., said Battalion Chief Mark Simmons.
Firefighters were able to help the woman escape, Simmons said. The house was fully engulfed in flames, a Rock Hill police report said.
She was unconscious and flown to Carolinas Medical Center with internal injuries, the police report said. Her condition is not available.
The fire caused about $100,000 in damages, the report said. The attic and one bedroom had fire damage, Simmons said. There was smoke damage to the entire house, he said.
A man who had been at the house until around 12:30 a.m. told investigators that he had no idea how the fire had started, reports say.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, said Rock Hill Fire Department Capt. Rusty Myers.
