The York County Council will again host the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s summer food service program. Meals will be available at no charge to all children and will be provided without regard to race, color, sex, age, disability or national origin.
The program will run from June 7 to Aug. 13. Applications for temporary employment will be accepted starting March 15. To register, call the summer food office in Rock Hill at 803-909-7511.

Helping Hands of the Carolinas and CRAVE will sponsor a Gospel Explosion from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 20 at McGuirt Auditorium, 801 Crawford Road, Rock Hill. Grapevine Wine Shop and Bar will host Beertopia from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot behind Grapevine. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 the day of the event. Proceeds generated by the Habitat for Humanity of York County ReStore are used to help build affordable houses for qualified families in York County. To celebrate Earth Day, the ReStore will accept donations of gently used furniture, appliances and decorative household items on April 22. Appointments can be made for large, bulky items. St. Anne Catholic Parish will sponsor the annual Be Irish for a Night fundraiser from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the William Pentis Parish Life Center. A corned beef and cabbage supper will be served with Irish desserts, beer and wine. Dan Bright, Mike Drapper and the Walsh-Kelley Dancers of Charlotte will entertain. Admission is $40 per person, and of that $36 will be tax-deductible. Tickets are limited to 200 and sold only in advance. All proceeds will benefit Pilgrims’ Inn, a Rock Hill assistance agency. The Hospice Resale Shop will host an indoor/outdoor yard sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday with a bake sale starting Saturday. The sale will be at the Hospice shop, 724 E. Main St., Rock Hill. All proceeds will benefit Hospice & Community Care and the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.
The Rock Hill High School Band of Distinction will sell pork and chicken barbecue from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Hopewell Baptist Church. Plates include barbecue, slaw, beans, a roll and a drink for $7. Barbecue will be sold by the pound for $8 per pound. Free delivery to Rock Hill orders will be available. Dress for Elyse will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church, 1905 Country Club Drive, Lancaster.
