The South Carolina Baseball Coaches Association has announced all-star teams for its two summers showcases.
The South Carolina versus North Carolina Select Game is schedueld for June 16-18 at Costal Carolina in Conway. The North-South All-Star games also are at Coastal on June 17-19.
Lewisville's Logan Pemberton was chosen to play in the select game. He helped lead his team to 28 wins and the Class A state championship, a series that went three games after Bamberg-Ehrhardt won the first.
Nation Ford's Del Corley is an assistant coach for the North Class AAAA/A team, which includes four local players: Northwestern's Chris Hyatt and Chad Smith, York's Josh Greene and Fort Mill's Alex Tomasovich.
The North-South event also includes a North AAAA/A team and North and South AAA/AA teams.

GIRLS SOCCER : Clover swept the top two honors awarded by Region 3-AAAA girls soccer, with Alissa Pantuosco being named player of the year and Kelsey Geary taking the coach of the year honors.
Clover tied Fort Mill for first in the region, but was awarded the No. 1 region playoff seed on strength of schedule. The Lady Blue Eagles ended Fort Mill's 72-game winning streak and seven-year hold on the region championship.

STALLIONS: South Pointe honored its student-athletes from the spring sports season, introducing the players and handing out individual awards.
Special service awards were presented to Lexi Mallard for her work in sports medicine (athletic trainer) and Dr. Nicholas H. Tuttle, the team physician.
