Regional music heroes The Blue Dogs bring their original brand of party and good-time music to The Sylvia Theater on Congress Street in downtown York tonight. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. and the show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door.

Saturday, July 31

Japanese festival

The 26th Bon Odori Festival, an annual Japanese summer festival, will be from 11 a.m to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Wachovia Atrium at Wachovia Plaza in downtown Charlotte. There will be Japanese-style lunch boxes, a tea ceremony, kendo demonstration, Bon dance, Japanese songs and crafts. Admission is free. Raffle tickets are $5 to have a chance to win a door prize. Concert

Top-selling Latin Urban artists Wisin & Yandel will bring their "La Revolución" U.S. Tour to Bojangles Coliseum on Charlotte's Indepence Boulevard at 8 p.m. Sunday. Tickets range from $42 to $112. For more information, call 704-335-3100.

Crown concert

Carolina Crown, the award-winning drum and bugle corps based in Fort Mill, will present NightBeat 2010 beginning at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Rock Hill District Three Stadium on South Cherry Road. Carolina Crown, the presenting group, is one of eight nationally-ranked drum and bugle corps that are scheduled to perform during NightBEAT 2010. Tickets range in price from $20 to $75. Tuesday, Aug. 3

Get out and meet the neighbors. Tuesday is National Night Out, and 29 Rock Hill neighborhoods will participate with block parties, cookouts, contests, youth programs, picnics and more. The Rock Hill Police Department will escort four caravans with city officials and others to each neighborhood during the evening. Thursday, Aug. 6

The Main Street Live! 2010 concert series will continue its season of family fun at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in downtown Rock Hill. The featured performer will be CrossHare, a country, Southern rock, blues, classic rock, beach, pop and metal band. The band will take the stage at 6 p.m. and the concert will end at 9:30 p.m. Main Street Live also will feature a kid's fun zone with inflatable gyms and other activities in the grassy area beside the downtown parking deck off Dave Lyle Boulevard. Tickets will be sold for each ride, and local vendors will sell food and beverages.

Concert

Darin and Brooke Aldridge, newlyweds who sing and play a rich combination of bluegrass, bluegrass gospel and country duets, will be in concert at 9 p.m. Aug. 7 at the Sylvia Theater on North Congress Street in York.
