York County Sheriff's Deputies have issued arrest warrants for a man accused of severely beating his girlfriend and her 16-year-old son at a Rock Hill home this week.
Danny Ray Pittman is charged in the beating of Kimberly Dawn Faile-Bryant and her son, according to a release from the York County Sheriff's Office. He faces two counts of attempted murder.
Faile-Bryant, 35, and her son were "severely beaten" at an Elder Road home late Wednesday and were flown to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. Both victims were in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit on Friday morning.
An 11-year-old also was at the home at the time of the beatings but was not injured, the release states.
Witnesses say Pittman was at the home around the time of the beatings. He was missing when deputies responded, along with Faile-Bryant's car.
The York County Sheriff's Office received information that Pittman was found in a mobile home park in Myrtle Beach. With the assistance of the Horry County Police, Pittman was taken into custody shortly before midnight Thursday. Faile-Bryant's car was recovered.
Pittman faces criminal charges of damage to property and assault from Horry County. Because of those charges, officials are unsure of when Pittman will be returned to York County.
Faile-Bryant's father said he doesn't understand why someone would do this to his family.
"They crushed her skull and about killed my grandson," said Rick Faile.
Faile told WSOC-TV his daughter has a long recovery ahead and his grandson's beating was so severe it may have left him with permanent brain damage.
"She'd do anything for anybody, loves anybody to death," Faile said.
