A Rock Hill man was killed in a fire this weekend at his home.

David Carter, 39, died in the blaze at his Barringer Road house, said York County Coroner Sabrina Gast.

The Lesslie and Oakdale fire departments, along with officials with the York County Sheriff's Office, the fire marshal's office and EMS, responded just after 2 a.m. Sunday. The house was fully engulfed when they arrived, said Lt. Mike Baker with the York County Sheriff's Office.

A neighbor called to report the fire, Gast said.

No foul play is expected, Baker said.

It appears the fire began when flames from a wood-burning stove escaped, he said.

An autopsy is scheduled for later today.
