A Rock Hill woman was airlifted to a hospital in Richland County after the car she was riding in swerved off the road and overturned Friday night about a mile and a half south of Kershaw, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Chantal Meadows, 23, of Tea Berry Lane in Rock Hill, and three others were taken to hospitals when the 1990 Ford Mustang they were traveling in went off the left side of Shop Road, hit an embankment and overturned, Trooper Billy Elder said. The accident happened at 10:40 p.m. Friday.

Meadows was riding in the back seat behind driver Darrell Jason Branham, 32, of Old Georgetown Road in Kershaw. Ashley Roberts, 28, of Winterwood Road and Michael Branham, 22, of Lockhart Road both of Kershaw were also in the car.

Meadows, Darrell and Michaeal Branham were all airlifted to Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia. Roberts was taken by ambulance to Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster. Their conditions are unknown.

Investigators determined that Meadows, Darrell Branham and Jason Branham were not wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident. It's still unclear whether Roberts was restrained.
