FORT MILL — A park guest at Carowinds said someone stole her iPhone while she was riding the Afterburn roller coaster last week.
The Rock Hill woman, 28, told deputies she put her purse inside the rides cubby hole and when she finished riding it was missing, according to a York County Sheriffs report.
When she went into a restroom, she saw her purse under a stall door and she pulled it out, the report states.
An employee left the stall and said she planned to turn it in to guest services. The woman looked in her purse and noticed the iPhone, along with $5, was missing.
Carowinds security guards searched the employee but didnt locate the phone or money, the report states.
Early last month, a Greensboro, N.C., woman reported that her iPhone was missing after she got off the Intimidator roller coaster. The woman, along with a security guard, found her purse inside a womens bathroom, without the iPhone.
