ROCK HILL — Teams competing in the U.S. Youth Soccer National Championships began checking out Manchester Meadows in Rock Hill on Monday. After a kickoff luncheon today, teams begin competing for 12 national championships on Wednesday morning.
Heres a look at the tournament by the numbers:
60 - Number of teams competing
102 - Number of games to be played
20 - Number of states represented
2,800 - largest number of miles traveled by a team - the Eastside FC 94 Red under-17 boys from Mercer Island, Wash.
3 -Number of teams from the Carolinas, :all from Greenville (CESA 95 Premier U-16 girls; CESA 94 Premier U-17 girls; CESA 95 Premier U-16 boys)
13 - State with the highest number of teams from :California, the state with the highest number of teams
$0 - Cost of admission
Games start at 7:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. from Wednesday through Friday. Five championship games start between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday. Seven championship games start between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.
