York County deputies arrested a Rock Hill man accused of stealing property from a funeral home after the owner and police discovered the items had been removed from storage and placed near the building’s edge.

Quinton Salvador Bacote, 39, of McGee Road is charged with burglary 2nd degree, resisting arrest, and larceny, according to a website maintained by the York County Sheriff’s Office.

Last week a York County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a Riverview Road funeral home about items, including a set of golf clubs, that had been removed from storage and placed near the front of the building with plastic bags over them, as though someone was trying to keep them dry, a sheriff’s report states. A bicycle that didn't belong to the property owner was also on site.

The deputy told the property owner to leave the items while he watched the property. Later, a man, identified as Bacote, grabbed the golf clubs and began walking away, the report said.

When the deputy ordered him to stop, Bacote ran and hid in a car where he was found and placed under arrest.

Bacote is being held at Moss Justice Center on a $9,470 bond.
