York man safe after passing out in tree

Published: September 3, 2012

— A York man who had climbed a tree to cut some limbs passed out Monday just before noon and was briefly stuck in the tree, fire officials said.

York’s two on-duty firefighters and another seven volunteers from the York Fire Department responded to the incident on Maiden Lane, said Lt. Jordan Austin of the York Fire Department.

By the time responders arrived with a ladder truck to get the man down, the man had regained consciousness and was able to use the safety ropes he had with him for the tree-cutting to return to the ground.
