Students at Oakridge Middle School in Lake Wylie began the summer with an aggressive summer reading goal. Media specialist Kathy Corbiere believed students in the school could record 250,000 minutes worth of reading during the summer break. One of 2,000 schools worldwide participating in Scholastic Inc.Õs Summer Challenge, OMS students logged an eye-popping 1,075,446 minutes of reading during the challenge to finish the summer ranked No. 8 in the world.
