FORT MILL — The Clover Blue Eagles headed into Friday night’s game with a new coach and what they hoped would be a return to fundamentals.

Unfortunately for Clover, the Nation Ford offense was the same one that has been piling up points all year. Nations Ford’s passing attack helped the Falcons roll to a 41-13 win.

The Falcons struck on the very first play from scrimmage, as Dalton Helms found Dijuan Ussery open down the middle for a 68-yard score. Clover took the lead on a 38-yard Kevis Adams run, but it didn’t last long. Ussery returned the ensuing kickoff 81 yards to make it 12-7 Falcons.

Helms started out red hot, completing his first five passes for 232 yards and two more scores, one to Ussery for 80 yards and the other to McCoy for 77. That made it 25-7.

Clover continued to have some success at running. The Blue Eagles rushed 67 times for 246 yards. The Blue Eagles’ defense, though, never could stop Helms, Ussery, and McCoy.

For the game, Helms was 14 of 22 for 372 yards and five touchdowns. Ussery scored 4 times, and had five catchs for 151 receiving yards. McCoy had three for 146 yards and two scores.
