ROCK HILL — A yard sale will be held Saturday at the Rock Hill armory to benefit more than 160 area Army National Guard soldiers who are deployed in Afghanistan.
The sale starts at 6 a.m. at the armory, located at 126 Museum Road, just of S.C. 161 near the Rock Hill-York County Airport. All proceeds will go to the Family Readiness Group of the 178th Combat Engineers Battalion. The group assists families of soldiers, and sends care packages to the soldiers who arrived in Afghanistan in August for a nine-month deployment.
Anyone wishing to donate items for the sale can bring materials to the armory from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., today through Friday.
Food and refreshments will be available for sale Saturday.
