YORK — A York man was arrested late Sunday after police say he knocked a man unconscious and then took his money and cell phone.
Anthony Christopher Shannon, 18, of 123 Hickory Lane is charged with strong arm robbery and second-degree assault and battery, according to a York police report.
A 32-year-old man told officers that he was walking through a park on Galilean Road when he saw a man he recognized from Moss Justice Center and knows as “Ant.” As the two passed each other, the man said he spoke to “Ant,” who punched him and knocked him out, the report states.
According to the victim, who police say has a contusion on his left jaw, “Ant” stole his cell phone and $160 cash. The man was able to identify “Ant” as Anthony Shannon from a photo line-up and said he wanted to press charges.
Police issued warrants on Shannon, but were unable to find him until Sunday night when he turned himself in. He is held on a $7,500 bond.
