ROCK HILL — Police say a Rock Hill man was shot in his home Tuesday night when three men entered his house, demanded money and then fired a bullet into his thigh.
Luis Miguel De La Luz Cruz, 28, of 711 Ashley Lane, Apt. B, was taken to Carolinas Medical Center, a Rock Hill police report states. His condition was not available.
Police spoke with Cruz’s brother, who said he opened the front door when a man holding a pistol told him to “open the door or I will kill you,” according to the report. The man ordered him to sit on the living room couch while two other men headed to the back of the apartment.
The gunman took the brother into the hall bathroom and asked where his money was, the report states. The brother told the man that he didn’t have any money. The gunman then pistol-whipped him several times on the side of the head.
While in the bathroom, Cruz’s brother heard two gunshots and saw the men flee from the apartment and into a white, four-door Corolla. When he went into the living room, he found Cruz on the floor, bleeding from his thigh, the report states.
Police spoke with a witness who said he was driving on Maplewood Drive when he saw the car speeding towards Cherry Road, the report states.
No arrests have been made.
