ROCK HILL — A Rock Hill man told police his girlfriend stabbed him in the leg with a kitchen knife during an argument Wednesday.
Police responded to an Iredell Street apartment around 9:30 a.m. when a 22-year-old man said he and his girlfriend began arguing about phone numbers in his cell phone. He said she started “fussing and cursing at him,” according to a Rock Hill police report.
As he was waiting for his shirt to dry, the man said the woman grabbed a kitchen knife and started chasing him around the apartment. He said he fell on the couch and put his leg up to defend himself from being cut. That’s when his girlfriend stabbed him in the lower right leg, the report states.
He then said she ran out the house nude with her baby.
The girlfriend told police that she attacked her boyfriend in self-defense after she said he began yelling at her for talking on the phone “so early,” the report states. The man apparently broke her cell phone and grabbed her hair, she said.
As she was trying to get away, she grabbed the closest thing to her — a kitchen knife — and swung it backwards, stabbing her boyfriend in the lower right leg. She said she ran out the apartment, without any clothes on and her daughter in her arms, because she was afraid and didn’t know what else to do, the report states.
The boyfriend said he wasn’t pressing charges and he wouldn’t go to the woman’s house anymore. Police say the two don’t live together and don’t have any children together.
