FORT MILL — Police believe that a white Dodge Charger without a license plate may link two men to two separate beer thefts at Fort Mill stores.
Around 10:40 p.m. Saturday, police were called to the Times Turn Around convenience store on 2488 North S.C. 21 Bypass by an employee who said two black men took five cases of 24-pack Bud Lights from the beer cooler without paying for them, according to a York County Sheriff’s report. He said they left the store in a white Dodge Charger without a license plate and seemed to be heading toward Rock Hill
Police were unable to find the car, but estimate that the beer was worth $101.60, the report states. The employee described the suspects as 6 feet tall, weighing between 200 and 215 pounds and possibly in their 40s. One man was wearing a white T-shirt with a black and white hat and white shoes. The other man wore a black shirt with a red emblem on it and a black hat with purple writing on it.
Around 11:30 p.m. Monday, deputies met with an employee at the Kangaroo Express on 249 Carowinds Blvd., who said she saw two black men leave the beer cooler with eight cases of Bud Light under the arms and in their hands, another report states.
She said she saw one man put the cases inside a white Dodge Charger without a license plate. The beer’s value wasn’t listed on the report.
Both store employees said they would provide police with surveillance video.
