2 men charged in Rock Hill shooting

— Two Rock Hill men were arrested Wednesday after police say they fired bullets into two women’s cars in an attempt to shoot back at men who were apparently shooting at them.

Cadarius Jarod Hines, 25, of 568 Friedheim Road, and Jatavious Bernard Moore, 24, of 1354 Coroner Court, Apt. B, are charged with discharging a firearm within city limits and two counts each of damage to personal property, according to a Rock Hill police report.

Around 8:15 p.m., officers were sent to Market Place Apartments, where Moore and Hines told them they were walking to Moore’s apartment when two men shot at them. A 22-year-old woman let Hines and Moore inside her apartment to take cover, the report states.

That’s when the two men grabbed a rifle, shotgun and Glock and began firing back at the two men. During the firefight, the report states, a red Kia belonging to a 41-year-old woman and a 26-year-old woman’s white Ford were hit. The Kia suffered $500 in damage and the Ford suffered $1,000 in damage.

Moore and Hines were both arrested. There were no injuries reported, police spokesman Lt. Brad Redfearn said.
