ROCK HILL — Police arrested a South Pointe High School student Wednesday after she allegedly hit another girl, sparking a school bus fight that soon escalated with two sisters and a fifth girl.
Tikeyiah Rice, 17, is charged with disturbing school, according to a Rock Hill police report. Officers were sent to the 400 block of South Heckle Boulevard to find a bus stopped in the median. The bus driver told police a group of girls were fighting.
Officers escorted the girls off the bus and spoke with a 16-year-old girl who said Rice got up from her seat and hit her and another girl. One of the girls got up to defend herself, the report states.
Another girl got involved in an attempt to separate the fighting students, but another 16-year-old girl and her sister attacked her, the report states. Officers noticed swelling on one of the girl’s foreheads and another girl’s clothes were partially ripped from the fight.
Rice was arrested and taken to jail. Charges are pending for the second girl and her sister.
