Published: October 30, 2012

— Police say a man walked into a Rock Hill BP gas station Saturday, asked the store clerk for a job application and then stole $440 she left on the counter.

The clerk of the BP on 624 Cherry Road told police a man walked into the store and asked her for an application shortly after 1 p.m. When the clerk went to look for the application, the man reached over the counter and took $440 in cash from a stack of money she was counting, a Rock Hill police report states.

Officers looked at the store’s security video and saw the man put the money in his pocket. Police were unable to clearly identify him from the video.
