ROCK HILL — A patient at Piedmont Medical Center told police she was sleeping in her hospital bed on Tuesday when she woke up to a man in a hospital gown kissing her on the cheek, according to a Rock Hill police report.
Police are investigating the incident but were unable to obtain information on the patient suspected of entering the woman’s hospital room because of HIPAA privacy regulations, the report states.
The woman, 22, told police she spoke to the male patient earlier in the day when he was admitted to the hospital but she did not know his name.
A Piedmont security officer told Rock Hill police that surveillance video shows the male patient entering the woman’s room on Tuesday around 2 p.m. and leaving about one minute later, the police report states.
The police officer was unable to view the surveillance video himself, according to the report.
