Man accused of assaulting girlfriend, slashing her tires

— A 25-year-old Columbia man is accused of pushing down his Rock Hill girlfriend, ripping off her necklace, trying to strangle her and then slashing her tires.

Police on Friday arrested Angelo Donnell Graham, charging him with third-degree assault and battery and damage to personal property.

Graham’s girlfriend told officers he threw her down on the bed, ripped a $300 necklace off her neck and then began strangling her, according to a Rock Hill police report.

The woman was able to get away and ran outside but Graham grabbed a kitchen knife and slashed the tires on her 2003 Chevrolet Impala, the report states. He then kicked off the right-side mirror.

Police found Graham down the street from the woman’s house. They also found him carrying the broken necklace. He was taken to the Rock Hill city jail. He was released Monday on a $4,000 bond.
