Rock Hill creates ‘Champion for Children’ award

Published: November 13, 2012

Rock Hill city leaders want to recognize a business, organization or individual who’s made significant contributions toward improving the life of local children.

As part of the city’s “Number One Question” campaign, Rock Hill’s Commission for Children and Youth will name one winner a “Champion for Children” on March 21, 2013.

Nominations for the award can be made by contacting Patti Panetti in Rock Hill’s parks, recreation and tourism department at 329-8786.

More information and nomination forms can be found on the commission’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/numberonequestion. Information is also available at www.rockhillrocks.com.

The deadline for nominations is Feb. 15, 2013.

The award, Panetti said, is “another way to put a focus on children and youth in our community.

“It’s to give agencies and businesses ways to think about ways they can step up.”
