ROCK HILL — A Rock Hill man whose mother called police on him was arrested Wednesday when he threatened to shoot an officer and called him the devil, police say.
Patrick Bernard Cunningham, 21, of 2315 Eden Terrace, Apt. 203 is charged with threatening the life of a public official and public disorderly conduct, according to a Rock Hill police report.
Cunningham and his mother were traveling on Cherry Road when he became “disorderly,” causing his mother to pull over, the report states. She then called police.
Cunningham refused to give police a statement, insinuated that an officer already knew what he was thinking, shouted profanities and then started clapping while officers tried to speak with him, the report states. He told one officer, “I’m going to shoot you.”
While police were taking him to jail, he began yelling at pedestrians, hit his head against the patrol car’s cage and began spitting. He then called one of the officers the devil. He is held at the jail on a $30,000 bond.
