Game On Dude leads Native Diver nominees

Game On Dude, partly owned by Joe Torre, is the biggest name among the 13 nominees for the $250,000 Native Diver Stakes on Dec. 1 at Hollywood Park.

Trained by Bob Baffert, Game On Dude posted a pair of wins earlier this year at Hollywood Park in the Californian and Hollywood Gold Cup. The 5-year-old gelding finished seventh as the 13-10 favorite in the Breeders' Cup Classic Nov. 3 at Santa Anita.

In seven starts this year, Game On Dude has won four for $860,000. In 21 career starts he has earned $2,994,658 with nine wins.

Set to defend his Native Diver crown is 2011 champ Kettle Corn. Trained by John Sadler, the 5-year-old notched his first win of the year with an allowance victory at Hollywood Park on Nov. 8.

Kettle Corn won last year's Native Diver at better than 8-1 with a half-length victory over 17-10 favorite Tres Borrachos. In 19 career starts he has seven wins for $364,111.

Two-time Pacific Classic winner Richard's Kid is also nominated. Trained by Doug O'Neill, the 7-year-old has earned more than $2.2 million with 11 wins in 38 lifetime starts.

Others nominated to the 1 1/8-mile stakes are Akkadian, Bank the Eight, Fly Lexis Fly, Groovin' Solo, Jebrica, Morning Line, Comma to the Top, Make Music for Me, Nonios and Tres Borrachos.
