Published: November 26, 2012

— A 12-year-old Rock Hill boy was jumped by three teens who pushed him to the ground and punched him on the side of the head while he was playing basketball at a local recreation center, police say.

The boy’s mother told officers that her son and nephew, 7, were playing basketball at the Boyd Hill Center on Constitution Boulevard Wednesday when they were confronted by three teens: two boys, 13 and 14, and a girl, 15. The teens started bullying him, eventually pushing him to the ground, a Rock Hill police report shows.

The assault continued with the teens punching him on the side of the head and kicking him while he was still on the ground, the report states. Officers saw swelling on his brow, as well as under his eye.

The boy told officers he goes to school with all three teenagers. The 7-year-old boy was unharmed.

Police plan to follow-up with the school’s resource officer for more information about the teens. No charges were filed.
