About 39 bronze vases were stolen from a York cemetery this week, according to the York County Sheriff's Office.

Employees at the Lakeview Memory Gardens say the stolen vases are valued at $11,700.

Eighteen vases were taken from the back of the cemetery on Wednesday, the report states.

Staff told police they noticed another 21 vases missing from a different section of the cemetery on Thursday.

A cigarette butt was left near a grave marker in a section where some of the vases were removed, the report states. The Sheriff’s Office collected the cigarette butt as evidence.
