Dead man found in Lancaster identified

Authorities on Sunday identified the dead body of a 25-year-old man found in Lancaster County late Saturday.

Deputy Coroner Marie Broome said Michael Catoe of Heath Springs was found along Beecher Horton Road just southwest of Heath Springs.

She did not have an exact address confirmed. Officials have not issued an official cause of death, Broome said. An autopsy will be completed Monday, giving coroners a clearer picture as to what happened.

Broome said Catoe had markings on his body when he was found, but she's unsure where they came from or what caused them.

She did say Lancaster County law enforcement was involved in the investigation.
