ROCK HILL — Deputies have charged a Rock Hill man with attempted murder after they say he stabbed another man after a fight during a party last month.
Nicholas Trey Hubbard, 19, of 1317 Stone Pine Drive, Apt. 107, is also charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime and entering a premises after a warning, according to a York County Sheriff’s report. He is held on a $65,500 bond.
On Nov. 20, deputies received complaints about a fight involving guns and knives at a Catawba house, the report states. Several of the people involved fled in their cars, but officials found one car stuck in a ditch in front of the house. There, they found David Smith, 22, on the ground suffering from a stab wound in his torso.
Witnesses, including a couple who threw a party at their house, said Hubbard and some other guests began to argue before the homeowners told Hubbard and another man to leave. Witnesses say they heard the men say they were going to get their “piece,” the report states.
About an hour later, 20 people came to the house with knives and Smith was stabbed, according to the report. After an investigation, deputies determined Hubbard stabbed Smith.
