FORT MILL — A Fort Mill student faces charges after deputies say he lay in front of a school bus, preventing it from pulling off Tuesday morning.
LeDale DeShawn Branch, 18, was charged with interfering with the operation of a school bus, according to a York County Sheriffs report.
By the time deputies arrived at the bus stop around 7:40 a.m., Branch was in a car with a representative from the school district.
The school district official told deputies Branch would be taken to school and disciplined there. Officials decided to press charges against Branch. Its unclear what school Branch attends in Fort Mill.
Efforts to reach Fort Mill School District officials for comment were immediately unsuccessful.
