ROCK HILL — Police say a 31-year-old woman tried to flush evidence that she was stealing down the toilet Thursday night at the Cherry Road K-Mart.
The K-Mart loss prevention officer told police she watched the woman take an unknown item and enter the stores restroom. She tried to flush the packaging down the toilet, and then concealed the merchandise in her purse, according to a Rock Hill police report.
The woman then gave a false name to store security after she was confronted. She told Rock Hill police officers she lied because she was ashamed of her criminal history.
While making the shoplifting arrest, officers found a prescription pill bottle in the womans purse.
The prescription bottle was not in the womans name and contained eight Hydrocodone pills, one Trazodone and one Chlorpromazine.
Police charged the woman with narcotic violations, stealing and giving false information to police, according to the report.
The report didnt list the item she was trying to steal but noted it is valued at $33.
