Solicitor: No charges yet against Clover man accused of killing his brother

Published: December 15, 2012

— The man accused of shooting and killing his younger brother in their Clover home on Thursday is not facing criminal charges at this time.

A final decision on whether charges will be filed could be made next week, said York County deputy solicitor Willy Thompson. The York County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the shooting.

Police found Shaye Cetan Fenske, 21, dead in the early morning hours Thursday.

His brother, Teyler Matola Fenske, 22, is suspected of shooting Shaye Fenske in their mobile home on S.C. 557 near Glenn Road in Clover, police say.

Police have said Teyler Fenske might have shot his brother in self-defense.

The Sheriff’s Office says Teyler Fenske called 911 to report the incident.

Deputies took Teyler Fenske in for questioning on Thursday, but no charges were filed.

The brothers have a history of keeping weapons in their home, according to sheriff’s reports. Deputies have broken up fights between the brothers before, according to one report from December 2010.

Neighbors say the brothers were inseparable and often played in their yard with Airsoft guns – replicas of real guns that fire plastic pellets, usually propelled by compressed gas. They ran a landscaping business together.
