Rock Hill residents want honesty, integrity in police chief

Published: December 17, 2012

— Rock Hill residents think honesty and integrity are the most important traits for the city’s next police chief, according to online survey results from the city.

Implementing “innovative crime prevention programs” ranked lower than other traits such as effective communication skills. Experience as a police chief also ranked lower than honesty, integrity and community involvement.

City Manager David Vehaun is interviewing candidates to replace retired Police Chief John Gregory. Rock Hill’s police captains have been sharing the duties of the police chief since Gregory retired Dec. 1.
