Parking lot dispute leads to Rock Hill man’s arrest

Published: December 19, 2012

— A Rock Hill man angry over a parking spot was arrested Tuesday when police say he threw a cup of ice at a man and then ran from officers.

Officers were called to apartments on Eagles Place, off Cherry Road, after receiving complaints about a man tampering with someone’s car, according to a Rock Hill police report.

The victim called police to say the 29-year-old man started arguing with him over a parking spot and threw ice at him and his car, the report states. When police arrived, the man ran from the officers, dashing into his apartment.

Officers arrested the man when he tried to slam his front door in police officers’ faces, the report states. He was charged with public disorderly intoxication, and then began slamming his head into the patrol car window.

He was taken to Piedmont Medical Center for treatment and later released. He was then taken to jail.
