A 23-year-old Rock Hill woman was flown to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte with serious injuries Saturday after an alleged drunk driver ran a red light and crashed into her car, authorities said.
Ten minutes earlier the same driver had crashed his Ford Taurus into two cars in the parking lot of a McDonalds off Cherry Road and driven away, Rock Hill Police Lt. Brad Redfearn said.
When police arrived at the fast food restaurant, they received a call about a wreck on Constitution Boulevard, Redfearn said.
A woman was driving south on Constitution toward Cherry Road in a Honda Accord at 12:40 p.m. when the Taurus, going west on Westerwood Drive, ran a red light and hit the womans car on the drivers side.
Marcel L. Dyess, 20, of Rock Hill was arrested in connection with both accidents. He is charged with felony driving under the influence, possession of marijuana, driving under suspension and leaving the scene of an accident with serious bodily injury. He is held at the York County Detention Center on a $95,000 bond.
Police are not releasing the womans name because her family hasnt been notified yet, Redfearn said.
