RICHBURG — A Richburg man, his wife and their daughters boyfriend spent the night in jail after police say an argument over a light switch quickly escalated into a brawl with a golf club on Monday.
John Mullinax III, his wife, Nancy Mullinax, and their daughters boyfriend, Dwayne Harris who lives with his girlfriends parents were arrested and charged with third-degree assault and battery, according to a Chester County Sheriffs report. All three were released Tuesday on $1,092 personal recognizance bonds.
Harris, 39, told police that he and Nancy Mullinax, also 39, began to argue because of the way he turned the light on his room around 11:40 a.m., the report states. The two continued to argue until John Mullinax, 43, stepped in and began fighting with Harris.
During the fight, Nancy Mullinax grabbed a golf club and began hitting Harris. Nancy Mullinax confirmed Harris story, saying she got the golf club to try and get Harris off her husband, the report states. Police took John and Nancy Mullinax to the Chester Regional Medical Center and then to jail. Harris declined medical attention.
