In regard to the recent article “Keel: Schools need officers,” I have only one comment: If the schools could afford more “guidance counslers” instead of police officers, we might prevent many of these problems we face in our society.

If we can't afford to help children with today’s problems because of funds, how can you justify funds for armed guards at our schools? What is the matter with this state?
