Politicians need to cut personal expenses

Published: January 29, 2013

Call me simple minded but my post educational training was with York Tech, and while in marketing class I learned a great deal about why we all pay such high prices in life. I have yet to get an answer for the following: Since the majority of tax-paying American citizens have sacrificed and suffered during the last decade of hard economic times that stems mostly from frivolous spending and living “above our means,” why hasn’t each and every elected official (politician) done the same or made some sort of contribution to stop our nation from this tailspin we are in?

We need to look at how we continue all family paid benefits, and not only pay cuts but how about no raises, reduced personal expense accounts, their medical coverage, which,by the way, is not Obamacare like what is forced on the others in the U.S., etc.? If these things were done in addition to spending cuts, we would see an awesome start to closing the holes in our financial bucket!

These issues are always swept under the rug because the ones who created the bills that are plaguing us are the main ones who haven’t made a financial contribution from their personal pockets directly or indirectly at all! The politician who comes up with this type plan will be a hero to us as taxpayers and will also be a shoo-in in the next election no matter if they are running for president or dog catcher.

Look out, America, because if this happens you will hear other politicians squeeling like a stuck pig for the next 50 years! Others who believe and try to make it happen will be America’s heroes just for having the backbone to try!
