— Three children were placed in emergency protective custody Tuesday after a 21-year-old Great Falls woman stabbed the man she was living with, police say.

Anayeli Garcia of 5506 Old Winnsboro Road is accused of stabbing Javante Dixon, 20, who also lives at the house, according to a Chester County Sheriff's Office report.

Dixon was taken by ambulance to Springs Memorial Hospital, where he was in the Intensive Care Unit Wednesday morning.

Few details were released about what led to the assault.

By the time police arrived, Dixon was sitting on the couch holding a blood-soaked towel to his side, the report states. Police found Garcia in another room, where she willingly offered up a paring knife and broken blade of a kitchen steak knife. Both weapons had blood on them, the report states.

Three children aged 7, 4 and 1 were staying at the home with Garcia. All of the children's relatives live in New York, the report states, so the Department of Social Services was contacted.

Garcia was charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature and booked at the Chester County Detention Center.
