Rock Hill man reports racist display, gets arrested

— A Rock Hill man who called police to report a "racist display" at his neighbor's house was later arrested drug charges.

Police say the 43-year-old man pointed to a metal lid for a fire pit and told police it was racist. He thought it was "a pile of mud with the skeleton of a black person drawn on it," according to a Rock Hill police report.

Officers smelled alcohol on the man and asked him if he recently smoked any marijuana. The man said he just smoked a blunt and offered consent to search him, the report states.

Police found 1.45 grams of pot in a plastic bag in the back pocket of his pants.

The man was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, first offense, the report states.
