— A Rock Hill man admitted to police on Monday that he had sex with a 12-year-old girl in his bathroom late last year, deputies say.

Billy Joe Gordon II, 20, of 1029 Kacie Drive is charged with second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, according to a York County Sheriff’s report.

Tuesday morning, a magistrate set a $10,000 bond for Gordon, according to court records with the S.C. Judicial Department.

In January, the girl’s mother told deputies that Gordon convinced her daughter to have sex with him, the report states. The mother said she didn’t want to press charges if Gordon admitted to it.

Deputies spoke with the girl, who said she spent the night with Gordon and his girlfriend back in October. When the girlfriend fell asleep, the girl was left alone with Gordon, who “repeatedly asked her” for sex until she agreed, the report states.

She performed sex acts on him in the bathroom for “several seconds” until she stopped and told Gordon she was going to bed, according to the report. They had no further sexual contact.

Gordon initially told deputies that the girl made up the story. The county Department of Social Services created a safety plan for the girl, while deputies investigated and determined that Gordon committed the crime.

On Monday, police spoke with Gordon, who confessed to the charge, the report states.
