Man charged in armed robbery at Rock Hill park

— Rock Hill police made an arrest Thursday and are looking for two others connected to an armed robbery in late January.

Gruma Joseph Smith, 19, of Rock Hill was arrested in connection with the Jan. 26 robbery at Friedheim Park, according to a Rock Hill police report. Police have charged Smith with criminal conspiracy and armed robbery, the report states.

Smith is one of three men accused of robbing a group of friends playing basketball at the park, according to the report.

Police have arrests warrants for the others accused of the crime but have not yet released their names.

During the robbery, one of the accused men had a handgun and got away with one man’s wallet with $1,300 cash and credit cards inside, the report states.
