A 25-year-old Fort Mill woman arrested Wednesday on accusations of stealing money from McDonald’s was caught the next day with marijuana at the Moss Justice Detention Center, according to York County Sheriff’s Office reports.
The woman, Tiffany Ann Goetz, admitted to deputies that she hid a tin can with marijuana and a glass pipe on her body and then threw away the items in the jail’s bathroom, according to one sheriff’s office report.
Officials had just booked Goetz into the jail when she asked if she could use the bathroom, the report states.
A janitor at the jail smelled the marijuana while emptying the bathroom’s trash.
After deputies investigated, the sheriff’s office charged Goetz with a violation of S.C. drug law for having contraband, the report states.
Goetz was arrested Wednesday afternoon and transported to a holding cell in Fort Mill after complaints from a manager at a Fort Mill McDonald’s that Goetz stole $80 from her office, according to a sheriff’s office report.
The manager has surveillance video of Goetz putting the cash in her back pocket, the report states.
She admitted to taking the money and told police she needed it to buy milk for her child, according to the report.
Goetz returned the $80, the report states.
The York County Sheriff’s Office has charged Goetz with petty larceny, according to the office’s website. She is being held at the Moss Justice Detention Center on $1,970 bond.
