A different question in the discussion of gun violence might be a simple one of description. At least this might get us started on a positive route rather than hyperbole.
While I do not agree with Rep. Mick Mulvaney’s decision to not consider any outright bans of weapons or magazine sizes, (as stated in The Herald while reporting on the town hall meeting Feb. 20), I feel it reasonable to ask at what level of weaponry he would consider a ban. Surely the members of Congress, like-minded with our Mr. Mulvaney, have discussed what they consider reasonable limits to the protection provided by the Second Admendment.
I ask the congressman to please answer this letter with a list of weapons he would agree that the Second Amendment does not guarantee an individual’s right to own.
