Published: February 25, 2013

— Women’s panties are apparently a popular item with thieves at Victoria's Secret in Gastonia County.

Gastonia police say someone stole thousands of dollars’ worth of women’s underwear Saturday night from a Victoria’s Secret store -- the second time in four days that the store was victimized.

An employee of the Victoria’s Secret in the Westfield Eastridge Mall told police that someone took women’s underpants between 6:45 and 7:05 p.m. Police say 168 pairs of underwear were taken, with a value of $2,100.

No arrests have been announced in the case.

Last Tuesday, a Victoria’s Secret employee at the Eastridge Mall store said someone took $2,500 worth of women’s underwear.
