Poll offers distorted view of the nation

Published: February 25, 2013

In reference to the Winthrop Poll on the economy, I have to ask, who are you polling? I would like to meet the ones saying this economy is doing better. Did you poll only people who watch MSNBC, or CNN or NBC? Because I would believe they would say such a thing.

But I live in the real world. I would like to know more about this poll. The only people I can even fathom who would say this economy is better have to be receiving some sort of goverenment assistance. Unemployment is up from last year. Gas is up 50 cents a gallon in the last two weeks. Food is higher. Every worker’s paycheck shrank by 2 percent.

So where is it better? Did you ask why they feel it’s better? How come you never call me? How come people I know never get a call?

It is a clear fact that over 90 percent of colleges push the liberal agenda. And I'm sure if you poll the student body they will say, President Obama is doing a good job. Well, here are some facts you can’t dispute.

George Bush was called every name in the book. And the liberal media personally destroyed him. Yet gas was $1.87 a gallon, unemployment was under 7 percent and household income was $4,000 higher. And millions fewer people were on food stamps!

We are not getting better! it is getting worse, and every worker’s paycheck will get smaller because Obama is not done taking more of your money! These are facts.

You want an accurate poll on the state of the U.S. economy, then poll people who have a job! Also poll the millions of people who have been kicked off unemployment and who are not counted in the numbers anymore! I do not believe your poll! It is not a true measure of life today under this president.

Here’s another example of how phony your poll is: You state that 51 percent of S.C. residents say the economy is better, yet 55 percent say the country is gpomg in wrong direction. How do you explain that?
