The Catawba Nuclear Station will sound an extra siren near the Bethel Fire Department and Oakridge Middle School in Lake Wylie on Wednesday around noon.
The test is in addition to the routine quarterly siren tests listed in the 2013 Catawba emergency planning calendar, according to a Duke Energy news release.
The siren will blare for three minutes.
No response is necessary.
