Lancaster man accused in string of thefts

— A Lancaster man has been arrested in connection with recent several larcenies, including the theft from a cash machine at Laser Car Wash.

Corey Hayden Cook, 36, of Great Falls Highway was arrested Wednesday after investigators searched his home and found stolen property and other items linked to the crimes, according to a release from the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators say Cook is responsible for damaging and stealing money from the Polar Ice machine at 1746 Great Falls Hwy. in August and December.

They also say he damaged the Laser Car Wash at 1714 Airport Road and then stole money from the machine.

He has is charged with several counts of malicious injury to property and petit larceny, according to the release.

Police found cocaine and drug items while executing a search warrant at his house, so he he also faces charges of possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He is booked at the Lancaster County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
